Randy Jackson Praises Former 'Idol' Judges Steven Tyler & Jennifer Lopez
After two more judges have left the "American Idol" team, the only remaining original judge Randy Jackson recently spoke about his feelings towards his former co-stars.
In a statement released to Gossip Cop on Friday (July 13), the 56-year-old musician said, " Steven and Jennifer are truly two of the most talented and consummate professionals I've worked with," adding, "I was friends with them before we hopped on this crazy journey together and I have no doubt our friendships will continue long after. I will love them for life."
As previously reported by GossipCenter, the 42-year-old sexy singer confirmed she was leaving the hit FOX show on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show and said, "The time has come." Miss Lopez's decision to announce her exit came just a day after Tyler he was quitting saying, " I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit . . .I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I'm back."
As for the show's future, that is still up in the air, but there have been conversations that Randy's role may change from judge to mentor while new high-profile judges take over the table.
According to sources, many prospects are in talks but Mariah Carey is reportedly close to catching a deal with the show as an insider said, "They are in serious talks with Mariah and it's very close to being a done deal."
