Utilizing her musical talents to kick off the show, Zooey Deschanel offered up a sweet song to begin her hosting efforts on yesterday's (February 11) episode of "Saturday Night Live".

The "New Girl" actress' monologue saw her greet the studio audience and viewers at home with a ditty about the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday - with the lyrics based upon the unfortunate situation in which only one half of a couple remembers the lovers' holiday is taking place.

Her directorial debut is set for a limited U.S. release on January 23rd, and - as part of her promotional efforts - Angelina Jolie engaged in a Q&A session with Clint Eastwood for Interview magazine.

Paying tribute to two worthy individuals while also raising much-needed funds, the 2011 LACMA Art + Film Gala was held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Saturday night (November 5).
