Nikki Reed Swims for Hurricane Sandy Relief
Using her fame for a worthy cause, Nikki Reed attended the Nyad Swim For Relief benefit in New York City today (October 9).
The “Twilight Saga: New Moon” babe hopped into the pool outside Herald Square to help raise money for Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.
Swimmer Diana Nyad is leading the charge, attempting to swim for 48 hours to bring awareness and donations to the people still displaced and suffering from last year’s massive storm.
Per the Nyad Swim For Relief website, “To mark the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad - fresh off her landmark swim from Cuba to Florida - helps power disaster recovery efforts through a 48-hour test of mental, physical and emotional endurance: the Nyad Swim for Relief. With the strength and support of P&G brands at her side, Diana Nyad swims for 48 continuous hours in the heart of New York City to raise funds for the AmeriCares Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund.”
After her swim, Nikki tweeted, “Guys please visit http://say.ly/Uki6Wef and donate anything you can, even a dollar! Let’s show Sandy victims that we still care!”
