Sarah Hyland Fronts Bello January 2014
The 23-year-old actress looked picture perfect in designer garbs from Bec & Bridge and Ted Baker for the Amanda Elkins-shot spread while opening up about everything from watching old episodes of her hit show "Modern Family" to sharing some details about her upcoming action-comedy film.
Highlights from Miss Hyland's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Bello!
On growing up with the cast from "Modern Family":
"It's crazy because it just started syndication on USA and Fox and all these channels, and honestly a little weird. You'll change the channel and catch an episode from our second season, even first season. I had the skinniest face ever, bug eyes, and awful hair. Ariel [Winter] is flat chested and a foot shorter than me. And Nolan [Gould] and Rico [Rodriguez] are these round little babies. It's amazing being about to watch everybody grow up, and even myself becoming a woman. So from that aspect, growing up with the cast, we really have become somewhat of a family - a fake family nonetheless - yet we're still very, very close. And the fact that we just won four Emmy's in a row is kind of like the cherry on top of the most delicious cake ever."
On her character in "Vampire Academy":
"Natalie Dashkov is a loser and geek. She knows all the gossip around the school because she doesn't have any friends, and so the gossip serves as her friend sometimes. I wear glasses, [have] crazy frizzy hair, and I even got to wear these fake tattooed pimples! I don't want to give anything away, but it's fun. She's very much of a fly on the wall, if that eludes to anything. Daniel and Mark Waters were such amazing people to work with. They were a dream combination for me, having been such a fan of 'Mean Girls' and 'Heathers.' Olga Kurylenko is in it. And it's one of these things where she's so gorgeous you don't really speak around her, because you're almost intimidated by her beauty."
On her exciting 2013 achievements:
"This past year as a whole was especially busy. Last hiatus I filmed three movies: 'Vampire Academy,' 'Bonnie & Clyde,' and I produced and starred in a movie. I had no time off, not at all... just go, go, go. So I want to be able to work this hiatus, but I'm going to be carving out some vacation time for Matt and I, I want to be able to have the chance to maybe travel to Europe or some place tropical that's rich with culture so I can feed my mind and not just feed my work addiction."
On her 2014 resolutions:
"I think my new year's resolution, like the rest of America, is to get into better shape. It's the universal new year's resolution, which none of us are ever able to keep. You know, if it happens it happens, but I don't want to be beat myself over it. I know I'm going to eat sweets and Mexican food. I love Mexican food. That'll probably be what causes me to break it."
