"Veronica Mars" Spinoff Series Comes to the CW Seed
Making a big announcement for the CW, the channel's president, Mark Pedowitz, just released CW Seed, the net's digital programming site, and Kristen Bell's movie, "Veronica Mars" is about to receive a spinoff on it!
At the 2014 TCA press tour. Pedowitz told members of the press, "Rob [Thomas] and I spoke last night, he's very excited he's doing it for CW seed. It may not appear before the movie comes out. He's very busy, but we're very excited. I don't have a lot of details yet."
He continued, saying, "I first heard about it from Warner Bros. digital people. I picked up the phone and called Rob. He happened to be in Vegas...He told me about his schedule, and I said, we'll take it whenever you're ready. So we left it at that."
The original installment of "Veronica Mars" ran for three seasons across UPN and The CW from 2004-2007, and although there is no concept art, Pedowitz and Thomas have considered who they will bring in to fulfill the show's roles.
The film, starring Kristen Bell, releases on March 14th, and acts as a re-invigoration of the series, and the new show will most likely be comprised of 6-8 ten-minutes episodes.
