Dan Akroyd Sworn in as Mississippi Sheriff's Deputy: Watch Here!
Joining the many older workers who decide to take on an entirely different career, Dan Akroyd is now a sheriff's deputy in Mississippi.
According to the Clarion-Ledger, the "Blues Brothers" star is now a member of the Hinds County Sheriff Department's reserve unit.
At the swearing-in ceremony, the 61-year-old actor shared, "It's an honor to join these ranks today. I understand the challenges that law enforcement face in today's world."
Taking his new role seriously, he added, "I am able to go all over the world now and talk up this county, talk up this state and talk up the people of the Hinds County Sheriff's Department."
Currently, Dan is in town filming "Get on Up," a James Brown biopic. Check out the ceremony below.
