Cate Blanchett Wins Big at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival
Taking home yet another trophy this awards season, Cate Blanchett received the Outstanding Performer of the Year Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday (February 1).
Honored for her work in "Blue Jasmine," the Aussie actress wore a shiny knee-length dress and long beige jacket as she accepted her prize.
Noting that the role was specifically written for her by Woody Allen, the 44-year-old star gushed, "It was the most astonishing part."
Though the filmmaker is not in everyone's good graces nowadays, Cate praised him, saying, "There's been role after role for women."
