Kim Kardashian & Oprah Among Stars to Celebrate Jay Leno's Final Show
Gearing up for a night packed with almost as many stars as the Golden Globes, Jay Leno hit the stage one final time to bid a tear-filled farewell to friends and fans of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
Amid the host of celebrities to hop up on stage with the 22-year host of the iconic talk show, Billy Crystal, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Jack Black and Oprah Winfrey all showed up to sing him their very own cover of "So Long Farewell!"
Kim Kardashian sang her own line from the beloved "Sound of Music" song, which read, "So long, farewell, tonight I told my folks...and now, I won't be the butt of Leno's jo-okes."
"Boy, this is the hard part," Jay said, overcome with emotion as he used the last ten minutes of the show to sign off. "I want to thank you—the audience. You folks have been just incredibly loyal and... this is tricky...we wouldn't be on the air without you people. Secondly, this has been the greatest 22 years of my life. I am the luckiest guy in the world. I got to meet presidents and astronauts and movie stars. It's just been incredible."
The 63-year-old concluded, saying, "I'm really excited for Jimmy Fallon. It's fun to be the old guy and see where the next generation takes this great institution. I'm so glad I got to be a part of it, but it really is time to go and hand it to the next guy. And, in conclusion, I want to quote Johnny Carson: 'I bid you all a heartfelt good night.'"
