Kicking off his Olympic run in style, Sage Kotsenburg nabbed the USA's first gold medal of the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The 20-year-old snowboarder blew away the competition with his trick he dubbed the "Holy Crail."

After being awarded his hardware, the proud winner said of his run, "I kind of do random stuff all the time, never make a plan up. I had no idea I was even going to do a 1620 in my run until three minutes before I dropped. It's kind of what I'm all about.

Later, taking to Twitter, Kotsenburg added, "WOW!! I just won the Olympics!! Bringing back the first Gold here to the USA! Love seeing all the support from everyone YOU RULE!!"
