Leonardo DiCaprio & Jonah Hill Join Forces for Variety Screening Series
They’ve been extra busy with promotional duties as of late, and Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill delivered the man candy at the 2014 Variety Screening Series of “The Wolf of Wall Street” last night (February 10).
Joined by writer Terence Winter, the “Catch Me If You Can” heartthrob and the “21 Jump Street” star fielded questions at the ArcLight Hollywood following their hard-hitting flick.
DiCaprio previously told Variety, “At the end of the day, this [movie] was a reaction to what we see in our culture. It’s a timeless thing, the lust for wealth and money and power, but it’s done on such a massive scale nowadays, certainly after 2008.”
Leo also noted that despite the dark vibe of the film, there was plenty of laughter on the set. “The comedy came from the absurdity of it. Some people have had a reaction to the humor in the film, because they think we’re glorifying the world. [Scorsese] said quite recently, ‘Why should I be polite in my filmmaking when these people were so impolite?’ We didn’t intend for this to be comedic. It came from the sheer audacity and absurdity of their life.”
