Philip Seymour Hoffman Wrote About "Demons" in Personal Journals
As the world continues to mourn his sudden death, Philip Seymour Hoffman left behind clues about his complicated struggle with substance abuse.
While searching his NYC apartment, police found two journals kept by the actor, along with books by Truman Capote, his portrayal of whom he won an Oscar.
Sources say the handwritten entries discuss his "demons" and repeated attempts to stay clean with Narcotics Anonymous.
Referencing past drug deals and soul-searching, the journals also have what one source described as "a fair amount of rambling that doesn't make sense."
