Shia LaBeouf Tries His Hand at Performance Art
Following his bizarre brown paper bag stunt at the Berlin Film Festival premiere of “Nymphomaniac,” Shia LaBeouf now considers himself a performance artist.
The “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” star has taken up residence at the Cohen Gallery in Los Angeles where he’s staging his “#IAMSORRY” exhibit.
According to a report, LaBeouf simply wears his “I Am Not Famous Anymore” bag and cries while people sit across from him. The performance is a collaboration with artists Nastja Sade Ronkko and Luke Turner.
And the event’s press release explains, "Shia LaBeouf is sorry. Sincerely sorry. He will be in situ at 7354 Beverly Boulevard for the duration. Implements will be provided. Free admission.”
Of course, given his penchant for plagiarism, LaBeouf is being accused of stealing the idea from Marina Abramovic’s “The Artist is Present” exhibit back in 2010.
