Sofia Coppola Will Likely Direct “The Little Mermaid” Live Action Flick!
Over the course of her career, Sofia Coppola has shown an impressive dynamic range and the “Lost in Translation” director is rumored to take the helm for a reboot of “The Little Mermaid.”
According to THR, Coppola has been negotiating with Universal Pictures and they’re close to sealing the deal.
Sofia would replace Joe Wright, who was initially tapped to direct the Working Title-produced live action project, and she definitely has the chops for the gig.
“The Little Mermaid” is a classic Danish tale first published in 1837 and made uber-popular by Disney thanks to their 1989 animated movie.
