Taylor Momsen Dishes on Her Naked Album Cover in Rolling Stone
She shocked critics and fans alike when she posed naked for Pretty Reckless' album Going to Hell, and now Taylor Momsen shares the reasons behind the cover art in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine.
During her interview, the former "Gossip Girl" star discussed the now infamous photo shoot, including her inspiration.
"We're all naked when we're born," Miss Momsen stated about the artwork. "If you find it shocking, that's your own perception."
She continued, "I don't think John Lennon was trying to shock people when he was naked on Two Virgins. He was just trying to be honest and raw as he could, and that's what my intent is with nudity."
In regards to what motivated her to pose naked, Taylor revealed, "That came from Pink Floyd. You know that photograph of the women sitting by a pool, nude, with all the record covers painted on their backs? That's one of my favorite posters, so I stole the idea."
"Then when we cropped it for the CD, it turned into E.C. Was Here, by Eric Clapton," she jokingly added.
