Forced to pay a hefty sum to the state of New York, Tina Fey has been hit with a $79,000 judgment, filed by New York State officials, for operating without workers' compensation insurance.

The Workers’ Compensation Board filed the claim against the comedian last week in State Supreme Court in Manhattan for "failure to Carry Workers’ Comp Ins" from November 2012 until just last month.

The judgment is reportedly signed by the 43-year-old, while her production company, Little Stranger Inc., which produced NBC comedy, "30 Rock," is not represented.

How state officials arrived at the $79,000 figure, the legal documents do not say; however it represents "Awards and Penalties" levied against Tina for "having defaulted in payment thereof." Tina also reportedly appealed the fine earlier, but still owes the money.
