Ice Cube Feels the Heat From Paul Walker Comments
He’s never one to hold his tongue, and Ice Cube was less than pleased when he and his “Ride Along” partner Kevin Hart lost the “Best On-Screen Duo” trophy to Paul Walker and Vin Diesel at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards.
The “Friday” star told USA Today, “We were robbed. Shame on you, MTV,” while stating that the “Fast and Furious 6” cohorts scored a ‘sympathy’ win given Walker’s death back in November.
Cube added, “We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated. For us not to win was crazy. We were the best on-screen duo, period,” adding, “They should have gave it to [Paul] before he passed away.”
Of course, Walker’s fans were pretty upset and lashed out at Ice Cube, who then posted the following message via Twitter- “Re: The MTV Awards. I wasn't really mad we didn't win. So I would never diss the actors who won. Not even Paul Walker. Seriously people! Don't believe the hype.”
“Re: Leaving early from the MTV Awards. They told me our catagory wasn't gonna be televised. So I left. Just promoting that RIDE ALONG DVD. Re: The sympathy vote: We should honor people before they die. That's all. Shame on you ‘make something out of nothing’ as* reporters. Smh. Re: MTV Awards. Ice Cube is not a sore loser. I was born losing. This winning sh*t is what I gotta get use to.”
“Last tweet and I'mma leave it alone. Remember this: A lie travels further then the truth. Damn the devil is busy. And Paul Walker fans don't trip. I was a fan too.”
