Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. & Keith Urban: Officially Coming Back for "American Idol" Season 14
Ready to give a round of singers another chance at the title, Fox announced on Monday (June 23) that Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr are all set to return for the 14th season of “American Idol.”
In addition, longtime host Ryan Seacrest is coming back after reportedly signing an extended contract for multiple seasons.
Creator/executive producer Simon Fuller released a statement, which read: "I am thrilled our consummate host, Mr. Ryan Seacrest, is returning for Season 14, together with Jennifer, Harry and Keith. Their interaction, warmth and experience made them an absolute joy to watch. I can't wait to see their evolution together continue next season."
There will be a few changes in place for the upcoming season, as the broadcast slims down to one episode each week when it premieres in January.
Despite the minor difference in airtime, David Hill, senior VP of 21st Century Fox, explained, "Jennifer, Keith, Harry and Ryan are the very best in the business at what they do, and I'm thrilled that they are returning to American Idol for another season. Each brings unique qualities and expertise to the team, but they all share the same passion for helping undiscovered singers achieve the American dream."
