Joan Rivers: Coming Out of Medically-Induced Coma
Things have been pretty delicate regarding Joan Rivers' health since her cardiac arrest last Friday, and now her doctors have begun the process of bringing her out of a chemically-induced coma.
According to an inside source, the 81-year-old comedienne’s condition was not good going into the coma, and unless something has changed, she could be in pretty bad shape when she wakes up.
“The waking-up process has begun and will take until Tuesday. There is real concern that the part of the brain that controls motor skills may have been compromised, leaving her as either a vegetable or in a wheelchair.”
As for Rivers’ family morale, it sounds like they’re losing hope very quickly. “Shock and upset is turning to anger, and they are looking for someone to blame,” a source close to the family said
Thankfully, Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers is still keeping her chin up. “She still thinks everything is going to be OK. She is refusing to admit that a world might exist without her mother in it.”
