He was the voice of two of the biggest bands of the 80s- Survivor and Cobra- and sadly Jimi Jamison has passed away.

The 63-year-old singer died of a heart attack on Sunday (August 31), the day after he and his band played a gig in Morgan Hill, California the previous evening.

Jamison’s razor-sharp vocals made 1980s hits “Is This Love,” “Burning Heart,” “The Search is Over” and “High On You” some of the biggest songs of the decade.

And in the 1990s, Jamison recorded “I’m Always Here,” which became part of the zeitgeist after being chosen as the theme song for “Baywatch.”
