Amy Poehler Set to Produce New Comedy
Adding yet another gig to her always-busy schedule, Amy Poehler will now be co-executive producer for a new Comedy Central pilot.
On Monday (October 8), it was revealed that the “Parks and Recreation” actress will join five others to help put together a new comedy, titled “Broad City.”
The order was given to Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, which is the hilarious duo behind the popular web series of the same name.
Although the project was originally set to air on FX, Comedy Central’s head of original programming Kent Alterman says that Amy knew it would be a hit, saying, “[Miss] Poehler told me this would be a great show for us, and that’s good enough for me.”
According to Deadline, the show follows “two girls, played by Jacobson and Glazer, through their daily lives in New York City, making the smallest and mundane events hysterical and disturbing to watch, all at the same time.”
No word yet on when the first episode will air, but to get a glimpse at what you can expect check out the trailer below!
