Ariel Winter's Mother Claims False Allegations Due to Child Star's Older Boyfriend
The ugly custody battle over "Modern Family" child star Ariel Winter is just getting uglier. The 14-year-old actress's mother, Crystal Workman, released a statement to Celebuzz on Thursday saying, "I love my daughter very much. I would never abuse her in anyway and I have always tried my best to always protect her and do what is right for her."
She continued, "My fourteen-year-old daughter has been dating an eighteen-and-a-half-year-old man, and when I caught them engaging in behavior that I feel my daughter is too young mentally and physically to understand and fully grasp I put a stop to it immediately."
Though law enforcement confirmed to TMZ that the Sheiff's special Victims' Bureau is investigating the allegations, the mention of a boyfriend came five days after she lost custody of her daughter.
Also, the related court documents make no mention of any boyfriend. For now, Ariel is in the care of her older sister, Shanelle, and Crystal is not to come within 100 feet of her famous daughter.
Of course, Ms. Workman claims that Shanelle only came "out of the woodwork once it was announced that the kids on the show got a big raise recently."
