Kate Winslet Receives “Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire” Honors
Her impressive career is only outdone by her generous spirit, and Kate Winslet showed up at Buckingham Palace for an Investiture Ceremony today (November 21) in London, England.
The “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” actress looked proud as she showed off her CBE insignia, given to her as a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Winslet was bestowed the honor for her contributions to the dramatic arts as well as her huge heart for charitable efforts.
Queen Elizabeth II asked Kate if she loves acting, to which Winslet replied, “I said yes I liked it but not as much as being a mother. It is the best job.”
Of her award, Kate gushed, “The sense of gravity is enormous and you very much feel you are being acknowledged by the whole country in a way.”
