Weinstein Company Cancels “Django Unchained” LA Premiere
It’s no secret that the tragic shootings in Newtown, Connecticut have had a profound effect nationwide, and the Weinstein Company has announced they’ve cancelled the Los Angeles premiere of “Django Unchained.”
According to a report, instead of a big industry shindig, there will simply be a “private screening for the cast and crew and their friends and families.”
A rep from the Weinstein Company announced, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.”
“In this time of national mourning we have decided to forgo the premiere that was scheduled for Tuesday.”
“Django Unchained” will hit theaters nationwide on Christmas Day and stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Christoph Waltz.
