Box Office: "Zero Dark Thirty" Hunts Down the Competition

Starting its first weekend of expanded play, "Zero Dark Thirty" took the top spot at the box office for January 11-13, 2013.
The Academy Award nominated Jessica Chastain fronted film about the hunt for terrorist Osama bin Laden garnered a $9.6 million Friday and a $24.5 million weekend haul.
Landing in the second spot is the Tyler Perry comedy "A Haunted House" which took in a total of $18 million for its opening weekend.
Rounding out the top five at the box office in earmarked earnings are the Ryan Gosling fronted mob flick "Gangster Squad" ($17million) in third, followed by the Leonardo DiCaprio led "Django Unchained" ($14.5 million) in fourth and the musical "Les Miserables" ($9.5 million) in fifth.
