Oprah Winfrey on Lance Armstrong: He Came Clean
It’s a sad day in the sports world as Lance Armstrong officially admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs to win his numerous cycling championships.
The 41-year-old cancer survivor opened up about the incidents during a candid interview with Oprah Winfrey, which will air on her OWN network on Thursday (January 17).
Miss Winfrey announced the new on “CBS This Morning” today (January 15) and said that it was “the biggest interview I've ever done," adding, "I would say he didn't come clean in the manner I expected."
Oprah did mention that she “was satisfied” and “riveted by some of his answers,” and that Lance was "truthful, serious [and] certainly had prepared himself for this moment."
Rumors started swirling that the former Tour de France champion came clean when the talk show host tweeted, “Just wrapped with @lancearmstrong More than 2 1/2 hours. He came READY!" after the interview on Monday (January 14).
The interview reportedly came directly after Armstrong gave an apology to the staff at his former company, Livestrong.
On top of all this information, Lance is also in talks to return a fraction of his earnings and name others who used performance-enhancing drugs.
