Supporting those in need with mental illnesses, Adam Lambert attended the opening of STEP UP ON VINE in Los Angeles on Monday (January 14).

Sporting a toned-down look, the glam rocker wore a black suit with a skinny brown tie as he joined other celebrity supporters like former President Bill Clinton and Kobe Bryant.

According to the organization, Step Up on Second (the original location) involves individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in developing opportunities to reintegrate into the community. Step Up on Second is dedicated to long-term support of people in recovery and their families, offering quality housing, educational, social and work experience. Step Up is committed to increasing public understanding of mental illness.

Recently, the 30-year-old former "American Idol" contestant has been speaking out against bullying on his Twitter account. On Friday he tweeted, "I just don't want to see this generation develop into a bunch of victims. I want them to be empowered and ignore petty bulls--t. How? I think we should encourage kids to make new friends. Reach out to that kid eating alone at lunch. Focus in the positive."
