"How I Met Your Mother" Renewed for Final Season
Fans of "How I Met Your Mother" will have to wait one more year to find out the identity of Ted Mosby's children's mother, as CBS announced it has renewed the popular comedy for a ninth and final season.
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said in a statement on Wednesday (January 30), "Through eight years, 'How I Met Your Mother' has mastered the art of leading-edge comedy, emotional water-cooler moments and pop culture catch phrases. We are excited for Carter, Craig, Pam Fryman and this amazing cast to tell the final chapter and reveal television's most mysterious mother to some of TV's most passionate fans."
Since its premiere in 2009, the show has been a top rated staple in the networks Monday night line up, averaging 9.7 million viewers.
