Box Office: "A Good Day to Die Hard" Takes Top Spot In Tight Race

Movie goers made it a tight race for top spot at the box office, giving a slight edge to "A Good Day to Die Hard" for the weekend of February 15-17, 2013.

The Bruce Willis action thriller grabbed $7.6 million on Friday, raked in a hefty $24.9 million for the holiday weekend.

Sliding into the second spot was the Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman fronted comedy "Identity Thief" with a take of $23.4 million.

Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the newly released Nicholas Sparks love story, "Safe Haven" ($21.5 million) in third, the Weinstein Company's "Escape From Planet Earth" ($15.8 million) in fourth, and the rom-com "Warm Bodies" ($9.1million) in fifth.
