Joseph Gordon-Levitt Brings "Don Jon" to SXSW, Unveils New Stills
Screening at SXSW this weekend, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut has been renamed from "Don Jon's Addiction" to "Don Jon."
Also written by the "Looper" star, the movie will hit theaters in Russia on September 19th, with a U.S. release date still unannounced.
Explaining the decision to change the title, the 32-year-old actor wrote, "[I]t felt to me like the old title, "Don Jon's Addiction" was throwing some people off a bit from the point of the movie. People were assuming it was a film about porn addiction and sex addiction, which really isn't true. That'd be sort of like saying 'The Maltese Falcon' is a movie about a statue of a falcon. DON JON is a comedy about how men and women treat each other, and how the media we consume can create unrealistic expectations that we put on one another."
In addition to the change, Jo Go-Lev unveiled production still from the film which you can check out below. The movie costars Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Rob Brown, Tony Danza, and Glenne Headly.
