Girls Aloud Wind Down Final Tour & Cheryl Cole Tweets Thanks to Fans
On a tour widely expected to be their last, Girls Aloud performed their penultimate show at Nottingham Arena in England on Tuesday (March 19).
Donning a variety of show-stopping costumes including sparkly strapless red gowns, coordinating black and white outfits, and sparkling gold and silver chains over black bustiers, the gals belted out their latest and greatest of the past 10 years.
On Wednesday (March 20), group member Cheryl Cole tweeted, "Last show !!! When did that happen ??! It was just 5 minutes ago we were starting rehearsals! Feel like I've been in a time machine. And now we're here !! One of my favourite places ever for the last show !! Liverpool!!! LETS GOOOOO..."
Paying tribute to their faithful fans, she added, "To the people that haven't been able to make it, for whatever reason, we feel your support regardless and have done for 10 yrs. To the people that have been to almost as many shows as we have lol let's make this a celebration of the past 10 years."
As for fellow girl grouper Nadine Coyle, she posted, "I love you @GirlsAloud fans so so so so so much! You have given me everything! Thank you, thank you, thank you! All the hairflips... Twisted ankles, early mornings, late nights, sore throats, tears & facing height fears are all to try and give you the show you deserve! I have seen you many of you at the tour work as hard as us! That is why I cried last night on stage & probably tonight again. Not sad, happy tears. I cannot thank you enough. I love seeing all your faces. Ok more tears. I love you all forever. Xxxxx NC"
Though no split has been officially confirmed, Cheryl wrote in last year's autobiography that she expected this tour to be the end and the gals' tweets certainly seem eulogistic.
