Tim McGraw Teams Up with Duracell to Give Batteries to NYC Fire Department
Lending his star power to those who serve, country singer Tim McGraw teamed up with the Duracell company on Thursday (August 15) to present the New York City Fire Department with a donation of new Duracell Quantum batteries.
In an effort to give back, the battery company has offered to give away more than one million batteries to emergency first responders across the nation.
In conjunction with his charity work, McGraw will also be hosting a video series, dubbed "Quantum Heroes," that highlights the heroic efforts of police, fire, rescue workers, and others in crisis situations. The first spot shows off the work of New York firefighters during Hurricane Sandy.
McGraw says he’s a longtime supporter of first responders' efforts, especially in his home state of Louisiana. "When [Duracell] asked me to be the host of the Quantum Heroes video series, I couldn't say no," he said in a statement.
Duracell describes the Quantum as "the world's most advanced alkaline battery" with better battery life and capacity than even the company's "copper top" line.
