Selena Gomez Talks Fame, Career & Romance
She’s at a definite highpoint in her musical endeavors and Selena Gomez is willing to take the good with the bad.
In a new interview with NY Daily News, the “Wizards of Waverly Place” starlet confessed that it can get annoying when the media focuses more on her personal life than her career.
"It does get to me. I'm a human and I feel those emotions of when people talk about you. It's never a good feeling cause half the time it's just bull, it's not real."
She continued, "In the real world I'll drive my car to the grocery store and buy myself some food. In the media world it's like, 'Oohhh, I drive my car to go somewhere secretive.' It gets too clouded so I just have good people around me."
Miss Gomez also gushed over seeing her newly-released Stars Dance album knock Jay-Z out of the top Billboard spot- "It felt good, but I was still a little nervous because his following is very passionate and very committed. I did not think at all I'd get No. 1. It was such a crazy feeling and after four records having the fourth be No. 1 … it felt like I tried all styles of music and kept going until I got my sound."
As for her heavily-scrutinized romantic life, Selena said she hasn’t found the right guy just yet. "I'm very picky, though. I'm confident and I believe that you should have somebody who really does love you for who you are. That's the hardest part just trying to find someone that will just love the core person and not anything else around it."
