Robert Pattinson: "Bel Ami" Berlin Film Festival Premiere!
Making his much-anticipated arrival to the red carpet, Robert Pattinson took over the spotlight at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival on Friday night (February 17).
The 25-year-old English actor joined alongside co-stars Christina Ricci and Holliday Grainger as the castmates proudly held the debut screening of their upcoming drama "Bel Ami" at the Berlinale Palast venue.
Directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, "Bel Ami" is "a chronicle of a young man's rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city's most influential and wealthy women."
With the motion picture due out in the States on March 2nd, Pattinson was recently asked to share his thoughts on the novel of the same name in which the movie is based upon.
Having nothing but praise for French author Guy de Maupassant's second novel, Rob told, "Amazing. One of my favorites. The script was really good too; Duroy has kind of changed a little bit. He’s so cynical in the book, but now he’s so convinced that he knows everything and that he’s been wronged, that he ends up being very earnest. He realizes that the whole world he lives in is based on a lie; it angers him so much that he basically wants to burn the whole thing down…and in trying to enjoy everything, he becomes what he hates most: a pompous little s**t."
